Marketing Production Development

Product Development is a bridge between R&D and Marketing. The key function is to test products coming out from the R&D breeding program in different agro climatic conditions in comparison with benchmark hybrids of competition. Trials are conducted in three phases to thoroughly test the performance of products before recommending it for a national launch. The three different phases of trials are MLT (Multi Location Trial), LST (Large scale Trial) and Demonstrations.

For conducting the MLT’s, eight MLT stations are located at different agro climatic zones of India:

North zone: Ghaziabad, Faizabad (UP) and Alwar (Rajasthan) East zone: Hazaribagh (Jharkhand), Ratlam (MP) West zone: Aurangabad (Maharashtra) South zone: Guntur (Andhra Pradesh) and Dharawad (Karnataka).

Rigorous monitoring and inspection standards are established at each level to ensure that only the products which satisfy the parameters for best performance qualify for each phase. A team of experts from Product Development, R&D and Sales jointly evaluate the products at different stages of crop and interact with the farming community via meetings and interventions sharing technical information on latest advanced agronomic practices, pest and disease management, and fertilizer dosages to get optimum results.
